The latest generation of the BMW 1 Series continues to showcase its sporty character with signature BMW proportions: a long bonnet, a rear-set passenger compartment, a sleekly contoured roofline, and a muscular rear. While the overall dimensions of the five-door model remain similar to its predecessor, there are slight changes. The exterior length has grown by 42 millimetres, reaching 4,361 millimetres, while the wheelbase stands at 2,670 millimetres. The width remains at 1,800 millimetres, and the height has increased by 25 millimetres, now measuring 1,459 millimetres.
The redesigned interior of the new BMW 1 Series delivers a modern, premium atmosphere with sporty touches and ample space for up to five passengers, featuring a leather-free design as standard. The newly crafted seats provide exceptional comfort, especially for long journeys. Optional upgrades include sporty seats in the Econeer version, made from recycled polyester, as well as M sport seats. For a more luxurious feel, the Veganza version offers perforated seat surfaces with leather-like qualities. The Veganza/Alcantara combination comes with the M Sport Package and is standard in the BMW M135 xDrive.
The new BMW 1 Series comes with a wide array of automated driving and parking systems. Standard features include Driving Assistant with front collision warning, Lane Departure Warning, Exit Warning, Traffic Sign Recognition, and Parking Assistant with Reversing Assistant.
Optional upgrades offer Steering and Lane Control Assist, Automatic Speed Limit Assist, and Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go. The Parking Assistant Professional, available for the BMW 120 and 120d, even allows smartphone-controlled parking.
