BMW M has once again pushed the limits of exclusivity and performance, this time in collaboration with one of motorsport’s most iconic figures – Valentino Rossi. To celebrate the nine-time world champion’s 46th birthday, BMW M has introduced the BMW M4 CS Edition VR46. Limited to just 46 units, this high-performance machine is a tribute to Rossi’s legacy, blending elite engineering with a personal touch from “The Doctor” himself.
Every aspect of the BMW M4 CS Edition VR46 has been meticulously designed for the ultimate driving experience. Featuring Sport and Style variants, the car showcases exclusive design elements, including Rossi’s trademark #46, carbon-fibre accents, and bespoke detailing that embodies the boldness of the motorsport legend.
Beyond aesthetics, the M4 CS Edition VR46 boasts finely tuned chassis technology, precision-engineered to complement the vehicle’s weight distribution and power output. The unique axle kinematics, wheel camber settings, dampers, and anti-roll bars all work in harmony to deliver exceptional steering precision and cornering agility. The experience continues with a BMW M Driving Experience at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, the very track where Rossi has secured multiple GT World Challenge victories in a BMW M4 GT3.

This powerhouse is engineered for track performance, featuring an increased maximum charge pressure of 2.1 bar from its two mono-scroll turbochargers. The result is an impressive output of 405 kW (550 hp), delivering exceptional acceleration and responsiveness.
Mated to an eight-speed M Steptronic transmission, the engine’s power is seamlessly transferred to the road through BMW’s M xDrive intelligent all-wheel-drive system and the Active M Differential. This setup ensures optimal traction and dynamic handling, allowing the BMW M4 CS Edition VR46 to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds and reach 200 km/h in 11.1 seconds. The “Sport” variant is finished in Marina Bay Blue metallic, with the iconic number “46” displayed in Tanzanite Blue metallic on both sides, creating a bold contrast. The “Style” variant features a sophisticated Frozen Tanzanite Blue metallic exterior, with the “46” appearing in Frozen Marina Bay Blue metallic. These distinctive finishes perfectly complement the exposed carbon-fibre elements, such as the CFRP roof, which is meticulously hand-painted and prominently features Rossi’s VR46 logo and signature in yellow.
Additional yellow accents pay homage to Rossi’s signature color scheme. The BMW M kidney grille outline, select V spokes on the forged M light-alloy wheels (marking the tyre valve position), and M-logo brake callipers all receive a vibrant yellow finish. A bright yellow accent strip over the door frames further enhances the “Sport” variant’s racing-inspired aesthetic. At the rear, the tailgate proudly features VR46 lettering, completing the unique look of this limited-run edition.
Inside, the theme continues with a predominantly Night Blue interior. The M Carbon bucket seats are upholstered in premium Merino leather, combining Black and Night Blue tones with contrasting Sao Paulo Yellow Alcantara in the shoulder area.
