Some car stories start with a single moment. Others build over time - growing from curiosity into something much more. For Tom, a long-standing Sandal customer, his journey with BMW M has evolved into a true passion, shaped by a series of unforgettable cars.
WHERE IT ALL BEGAN.
Tom’s first step into the world of M came with the iconic BMW M3 (E92). Having owned BMWs before, this was his introduction to what M really meant. “It sounded good, it was fast… we took it on the track. More than enough for me at that age.”
The naturally aspirated V8, the unmistakable sound, and the track-ready performance made a lasting impact - delivering a completely different kind of experience behind the wheel.
STEPPING UP THE POWER.
After the M3, Tom stepped into something bigger - the BMW M5 (F10), marking a shift towards a more refined take on performance.
With greater power, more presence, and a more composed driving character, the M5 offered a different side of M. It combined effortless speed with everyday comfort, delivering performance in a way that felt smooth, confident, and incredibly capable on any journey.
A GROWING PASSION FOR M.
From there, Tom’s journey shifted. It wasn’t just about owning an M car anymore - it was about being part of the brand.
He began ordering new models, starting with the BMW M2, embracing a more focused, driver-centric experience. Then came something completely different.
When the BMW XM was introduced, Tom knew he wanted one.
“Being a fan of the brand, I had to have one.”
He ordered the Label Red XM, and when the opportunity came to secure a Label Red Edition, he didn’t hesitate. It was a bold step - one that reflected both his loyalty to BMW M and his enthusiasm for what the brand continues to create.
THE JOURNEY CONTINUES.
Most recently, Tom added another chapter to his story with a new BMW M5 - a fitting continuation of a journey that has seen him experience M in all its forms.
Reflecting on his time with the brand, Tom summed it up simply:
“Buying an M car, you’ve got the best of everything.”
