Some experiences go beyond simply driving cars - they are about people, passion, and shared moments. Recently, the Sandal BMW team hosted an exclusive track day at Croft Circuit for our valued customers. It was a day designed to bring together BMW enthusiasts for a truly immersive experience, blending thrilling driving, innovative vehicles, great company, and delicious food.
The venue for our special day was none other than Croft Circuit, nestled in the scenic surroundings of Dalton-on-Tees in North Yorkshire. Steeped in racing heritage, Croft Circuit has long been a key fixture on the UK motorsport map. Originally an RAF airfield, the circuit has evolved into one of the country’s most technically challenging and engaging tracks.
Measuring 2.127 miles, Croft offers a brilliant mix of sweeping corners, tight chicanes, and long straights - the perfect playground for the performance-oriented BMW M models our customers experienced on the day. The flowing layout of the track, combined with crisp March air and open skies, created an atmosphere that was both exhilarating and immersive. Every lap offered new challenges, and the natural beauty of the surroundings added to the overall sensory thrill of the day.
Our day began in style at Hangar 50, the newly introduced hospitality space located at the heart of the circuit. Designed with both functionality and atmosphere in mind, Hangar 50 features a spacious open-plan layout, full catering facilities, and a covered outdoor terrace with panoramic views of the track.
As our customers arrived, they were greeted with freshly brewed tea and coffee and a buzz of anticipation filled the air. Hangar 50 offered the perfect environment to relax, mingle, and prepare for the day ahead. Conversations about favourite cars, track experiences, and BMW engineering flowed freely, and it quickly became clear that the day would be as much about community as it was about cars. With its welcoming vibe and perfect vantage points, Hangar 50 set the scene for what would be an unforgettable track day.
With engines fired up and helmets secured, the excitement truly kicked into gear. Our customers had the opportunity to take the wheel of the latest BMW M models, experiencing first-hand the precision, power, and innovation that define the M lineup. Whether navigating tight chicanes or enjoying the flow of long straights, each driver was able to feel the responsiveness and agility that BMW engineering delivers.
Meanwhile, the Sandal BMW team also joined in the fun, both from behind the wheel and trackside, sharing the experience with our customers and offering guidance where needed. The roar of engines, the feel of tyres gripping the tarmac, and the satisfaction of mastering the circuit created a day full of memorable moments.
After a morning of track action, appetites were high - and the catering didn’t disappoint. We invited Lucca Pizza Company, a mobile wood-fired pizza van, to serve up freshly baked pizzas trackside. From classic favourites like pepperoni to adventurous creations such as chilli honey and chorizo, every pizza showcased the quality of simple, fresh ingredients.
The aroma of wood-fired cooking filled the air, creating a relaxed and convivial atmosphere as customers enjoyed lunch and shared their experiences from the track. The pizzas, cooked in a 450°C oven to achieve a perfectly crisp base and golden, melty topping, added a memorable and fun culinary element to the day. It wasn’t just a meal — it was an experience in itself, combining artisan food with the thrill of motorsport.
As the sun dipped behind the trees and the final laps came to an end, there was a real sense of satisfaction and shared achievement among everyone present. This was more than just a track day - it was an immersive experience, thoughtfully designed to celebrate BMW performance, community, and hospitality.
