BMW’s latest models make it super easy to connect your smartphone and bring all your favourite apps right to your car’s screen. Whether you’re team Apple or Android, here’s what you need to know.

Why Use Apple CarPlay or Android Auto?

Both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are designed to make your drive safer and more enjoyable by letting you access key phone features without distractions.

Hands-free control: Use voice commands through Siri or Google Assistant to send messages, make calls, or get directions.
Easy navigation: Access Apple Maps, Google Maps, or Waze for turn-by-turn directions.
Stay entertained: Stream your favourite music, podcasts, or audiobooks from apps like Apple Music, Spotify, Audible, and more.
Stay connected: Get notifications for messages and calls without having to touch your phone.
Safe and intuitive interface: Large icons and simple menus help you keep your eyes on the road.

How to Connect Your Phone on the Latest BMW Models

BMW supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on many newer models, but you can also connect via USB.

For Wireless Connection:

Enable Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on your smartphone.
On your BMW’s iDrive screen, go to “Connect Telephone”
Your BMW will start searching for devices. On your phone, select your BMW from the Bluetooth list.
Confirm the pairing code on both screens.
After pairing, your BMW will ask if you want to enable Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. Agree to connect.
Your car’s display will switch to the CarPlay or Android Auto interface.
