Sandal MINI at the Dales MINI Run.

Can the MINI Cooper SE Tackle a 200-Mile Journey Through the Yorkshire Dales? Luke’s Story.

Here at Sandal MINI, we love a good road trip—especially when it's behind the wheel of an electric powerhouse like the MINI Cooper SE. Recently, our Marketing Executive, Luke, decided to put the MINI Cooper SE to the test on a 200-mile trip through the stunning Yorkshire Dales, as part of the Dales MINI Run. Here’s how it all unfolded.

Setting off to the Dales.

Luke began his journey from Leeds, and after travelling on the motorway, the MINI Cooper SE’s battery sat at 80%, filling Luke with great confidence even before starting the Dales run. But when he spotted a free charging station, he couldn’t pass up the opportunity to top off the battery. After a quick pit stop for a drink, Luke returned to find his MINI already at 92% charge. Charging on the go? Easier than you’d think!

Arriving at the Event.

With a nearly full battery, Luke was ready for the day’s journey. His first stop? A short 10-mile drive through some gorgeous countryside to the Woodhouse campsite, the starting point of the Dales MINI Run. When he arrived, he was greeted by a sea of MINIs—classic models, modern ones, and everything in between. The energy was high, and it was clear this was going to be an adventure to remember.

The Scenic Drive Begins: The Dales at its Best.

As the MINI Run got underway, Luke found himself driving through the beautiful, rolling hills of the Yorkshire Dales. With the sun shining and perfect driving weather, the MINI Cooper SE was in its element. About 80 miles into the journey, the scenery was so breathtaking that Luke couldn’t help but pull over and take some photos. His MINI Cooper SE, set against the picturesque Dales, made for a fantastic shot.

After snapping a few photos, Luke checked his battery and was pleasantly surprised to see he still had 160 miles of range left! Talk about peace of mind on a long trip. Re-joining the convoy, Luke continued on to Brymor Ice Cream, a local favourite, for a well-deserved break with the other MINI enthusiasts.

The Final Stretch and Going Strong.

After the ice cream stop, it was time for the final leg of the journey. Luke zipped through the Dales, enjoying the MINI’s go-kart like feeling, responsive handling and silent power. When he rolled back into the Woodhouse campsite at the end of the day, he was met with a few surprised faces. How could an all-electric MINI make it through a 200-mile run on a single charge? Even more impressive, Luke still had 98 miles of range left in the battery!

What Everyone Thought of the All-New Electric MINI.

The MINI Cooper SE had not only met expectations but exceeded them, leaving a lasting impression on everyone at the event. After an hour of chatting with fellow MINI lovers and admiring the wide array of cars, it was time for Luke to head home to Leeds.

The Journey Home.

After a full day of driving through the Yorkshire Dales and enjoying the MINI Run, Luke made the trip back to Leeds. And the best part? When he pulled into his driveway, his MINI Cooper SE still had 45 miles of range left!

So, Can the MINI Cooper SE Handle a 200-Mile Trip?

The answer is a resounding yes! Luke’s journey through the Yorkshire Dales proved that the MINI Cooper SE is more than capable of tackling long trips with ease. Whether you’re worried about range anxiety or wondering if an electric car can handle a scenic road trip, the MINI Cooper SE has you covered. With its impressive range, quick charging capabilities, and smooth, responsive drive, it’s the perfect companion for any adventure—big or small.
