As we celebrate 25 years of the modern MINI, we're sharing the stories of the people who have made the brand such a special part of their lives.
For Tamsyn, that connection goes back further than her first MINI. From a childhood gift that sparked a lifelong love for the brand, to finally getting behind the wheel of her own dream MINI, her story shows just how lasting that connection can be.
Tamsyn had a dream of owning a MINI started long before she ever had one parked on her driveway.
Her love for MINI began with a small gift from her mum - a toy MINI bought for her birthday. It might not have been the real thing, but it meant far more than just another toy.
"One year for my birthday my mum bought me a toy and it was a little MINI, and she was like, 'Here, here's your MINI.' Obviously it wasn't a real MINI, but it really meant a lot to me."
Years later, Tamsyn finally got the chance to make that childhood dream a reality.
"I have always wanted a MINI. They're just so small and cute, and just appeal to me."
Her first MINI was an all-electric MINI - the car she'd always dreamed of owning. And when she finally got behind the wheel, it was everything she'd hoped for.
Tamsyn's MINI journey has since taken her to the MINI Countryman Electric, giving her even more space, comfort and electric capability while keeping the character she fell in love with in the first place.
"It's brilliant. I absolutely love her."
For Tamsyn, it's the feeling of getting into the car that makes such a difference. The comfort, the refinement and the experience behind the wheel have made the Countryman Electric a perfect fit.
"Getting into that car, it's just so comfortable. It feels like a luxury car without the luxury prices."
For Tamsyn, her love for MINI isn't just about the car sitting on her driveway. It's the feeling she gets every time she sees another MINI out on the road.
"Every time I pass other MINIs on the road I always smile and I'm happy there are so many around."
From a small toy MINI gifted by her mum to the all-electric MINI Countryman she drives today, her story is a reminder of how a childhood dream can become part of everyday life.
"It's just a brilliant car. I love it."
And perhaps that's the magic of MINI - once you've fallen in love with one, you keep coming back.
